In Memorium — Our Founder:

Robert J. Dodd Jr. (Deceased)
Following his graduation from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and his admission to the Ohio bar in 1965, Robert J. Dodd, Jr. worked as an Ohio assistant attorney general in the workers’ compensation section representing the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation and Industrial Commission of Ohio in the Common Pleas Courts in the trials of contested cases as well as appearing before the various Courts of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Ohio in cases contested before those courts.
Upon leaving the office of the attorney general of Ohio in 1970, Mr. Dodd joined Walter J. Howdyshell in forming the law firm partnership of Howdyshell & Dodd in New Lexington, Ohio, which engaged in the general practice of law with Mr. Dodd’s primary practice directed toward representing injured workers in workers’ compensation cases and Social Security Disability benefits claims. Satellite offices were opened shortly thereafter in Zanesville and Marietta, Ohio, with representation restricted to workers’ compensation and Social Security Disability applicants.
The law firm of Howdyshell & Dodd was dissolved in 1983 and Robert J. Dodd Jr., Co., L.P.A., was incorporated. A satellite office was opened in Athens, Ohio. The firm focuses its practice on the representation of injured workers before the Bureau of Workers’ Compensation cases, applicants for disability benefits before the Social Security Administration, OPERS, STRS, SERS, and claimants in personal injury and medical negligence actions.
